Sorry for the lack of updates. I just came back from a 10-day trip to Europe with the Vans crew and the photo above pretty much defines my last few weeks. It’s been a marathon. The photo was taken from the back of a cab in New York—our last stop of the trip.

You learn a lot about yourself when you travel and I always find that it’s always inspiring to visit places that I’ve never been to before. I met so many cool people along the way and I’m glad that I was able to take some time to catch up with some old friends that have recently moved to Brooklyn. More updates coming soon. I hope the six of you who actually visit this blog aren’t too bummed. For now, enjoy this. And maybe this?

Ayrton Senna

Last Friday, I watched Asif Kapadia’s film about 3-time Formula One world champion, Ayrton Senna. I’ll be the first to admit, I know very little about Formula One, but the film, Senna, isn’t just about Formula One. It’s a film about the life sacrifices of a competitor (and his love for racing) trying to be the best at his craft.

Senna will appeal to almost anyone. Even those with just a little bit of racing knowledge. It gives the viewers an intimate look at Aryton’s career—beginning with his early days as a cart-racer and eventually leading into his career in Formula One.

After watching the film, I gained a new appreciation for anyone willing to get behind the wheel and drive way beyond the safety threshold of most normal human beings. Taking a turn at a 100+mph may look like a lot of fun, but I don’t think could ever do it.

Above are few photos of Senna’s time driving for Mclaren, a partnership that would bring him 3 Formula One world titles. If the film is playing in a theater near you, definitley check it out.
