Just a few photos that I took at Dr Lakra’s latest show at the Museo de la Ciudad de México.
Canonet QL 19 stills by my good friend Arik. Loving these shots, dude.
For some reason, I’ve always read Plateaus as “Plateus”. So I was wrong, and you were right. Shit was good.
Random run-in with this lad wearing Vans OTW Larkins.
It’s always awesome meeting people that have inspired you for a long time and finding out that they’re some of the nicest dudes out there. Had a blast in Mexico, gents!
From wire-based shell chairs by Charles and Ray Eames, to printed textiles by Barney Reid, the LACMA’s current exhibition, California Design, 1930–1965- “Living in a Modern Way”, celebrates the work of California’s standout designers of the Mid-Century.
It had been a while since I’ve taken my parents out and being the vintage
hoarders collectors that they are, I thought that they might’ve enjoyed this exhibition. And they did. My dad is a huge pottery collector and was quick to nudge me whenever he spotted any Heath pieces along the way. And as a proud owner of a few Barney Reid textile prints, he was happy to see that some of his garage sale finds shared similar names with the LACMA. You did well, dad. The show runs through June 3, 2012. Be sure to stop by.
