Super Skate Summer 2011. Portland, OR

July 25, 2011

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of attending the second day of Super Skate Summer held at Portland’s Hollywood Theater. Hosted by Patrick O’Dell and Chris Johanson, the weekend explored the art and process behind the cinematic documentation of skateboarding.

Jerry Hsu and Jon Miner were amongst the guest speakers to discuss the making of Emerica’s Stay Gold while Greg Hunt, Jason Dill, and Anthony Van Engelen talked about the process of filming Alien Workshop’s Mind Field. Special guests, including Thomas Campbell and Neck Face were also in attendance to sit down and share their favorite video parts followed by a Q&A with the audience.

And if that wasn’t enough, Super Skate Summer attendees were treated with free Chris Johanson prints, beer koozies and hats provided by Vans.
