On my desk: Wonderwall Inc & Monocle Magazine

Wonderwall Inc. Masamichi Katayama Projects, Monocle Magazine

I bought this month’s Monocle while grabbing my lunch earlier today. These days, its a very hard commitment to buy printed matter in the age of digital media. But its different with Monocle. My friend Vince put me on this magazine a few years back and I’ve been hooked ever since. Everything from the dimensions, the paper, the fonts and the tasteful coverage of world affairs is on point… shoot, even the advertisements add to the publication’s aesthetic (seriously!?!). The music section is always really good, but I wish they would write more. But I guess there’s a zillion other places for that.

Wonderwall Inc is one of my favorite interior design firms. Masamichi Katayama has been responsible for creating retail spaces for Marc Jacobs, Sony, Beams and one time cult-label, A Bathing Ape. Earlier today, I stumbled upon their newly designed site. It took some time to get used to it, but once mastered, the navigation is smooth. Looks spectacular. Go check it out.

Below are a few Wonderwall-designed spaces. Negative space is a plus!
